PROGRAMME
Day 1: Paredes | Guimarães
Morning: Departure from the origin points. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: The tour begins with a visit to the Castromil and Banjas Gold Mines Interpretation Centre, a site with significant remains of gold mining from the Roman occupation period. The visit continues with a guided tour of the Castromil Mines, an ancient mining exploration site. A walk through the historic center of Guimarães.
Evening: Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Póvoa de Lanhoso | Travassos
Morning: Departure to Póvoa de Lanhoso for a guided tour of the Filigree Interpretation Room. Next, a gold workshop at Aurélio & Monteiro factory in Sobradelo da Goma, one of the villages where the tradition of filigree is still alive, through the work of local artisans. Lunch in Póvoa de Lanhoso.
Afternoon: Continue to Travassos for a guided visit to the Gold Museum. Return to Guimarães.
Evening: Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Gondomar | Porto
Morning: Departure to Gondomar, known as the Capital of Goldsmithing. Filigree holds a prominent place among the creations of local goldsmiths, traditionally crafted in small, family-owned workshops using techniques passed down through generations. Visit to the Municipal Filigree Museum. Followed by a filigree workshop with the creation of a piece at CINDOR. Journey to Porto with lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Free time in Porto. Return to the origin points.
