The Douro Internacional is an unforgettable destination, shared by Portugal and Spain: its stunning cliffs will reveal to you a rugged and vibrant Douro, full of biodiversity. We will walk along remote paths in both Portugal and Spain, starting from Castelo Rodrigo. The itinerary includes a visit to Freixo de Espada à Cinta and, crossing the border, Fermoselle and Zamora, small Spanish gems full of culture and traditions. Back in Portugal, we visit Miranda do Douro, a land of legends and the Mirandese language, passing through Picote and the spectacular Miradouro da Fraga do Puio. A journey that will enchant you!

PROGRAM:
Day 1: Castelo Rodrigo | Freixo de Espada à Cinta
Morning: Departure from the starting points. Lunch at a restaurant along the way.
Afternoon: Guided visit to the historical center of Castelo Rodrigo, exploring the Palácio de Cristóvão de Moura, the Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rocamador, and the Antiga Judiaria. Continue to Freixo de Espada à Cinta for a walking tour of the historic center, visiting the Castle, the Heptagonal Tower, the Freixo Duarte d'Armas, and the Igreja Matriz.
Evening: Regional dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in the region.
Day 2: Fermoselle | Zamora | Miranda do Douro
Morning: Visit to the Miradouro de Penedo Durão for a breathtaking view of the Douro International. Continue to Fermoselle, located in the Arribes del Duero region, famous for its natural beauty. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Continue to Zamora, dominated by the Douro River. Visit to the Zamora Castle, the Cathedral, and a walking tour of the historical center, including entries into Romanesque churches along the way.
Evening: Return to Miranda do Douro for a regional dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 3: Douro Arribas River Cruise | Miranda do Douro
Morning: Environmental Cruise on the Douro Arribas for 1 hour. Aboard the International Biological Station’s ship, you’ll enjoy the local fauna, flora, and geology. Afterward, taste Porto wines. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Guided visit of Miranda do Douro, including the Concatedral, Praça D. João III, the ruins of the Episcopal Palace, Rua da Costanilha, and the Pre-Roman Walls.
Evening: Performance by the Pauliteiros de Miranda, regional dinner, and overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 4: Picote | Torre de Moncorvo
Morning: Departure for Picote, in the Douro International Natural Park, with a visit to the Miradouro de Fraga do Puio. Along the route, observe granite houses, medieval buildings, and water mills. Continue to Torre de Moncorvo for a guided visit to the Basilica, the largest religious temple in Trás-os-Montes, and the Sacred Art Museum. Enjoy a tasting of Moncorvo-covered almonds. Lunch at a local restaurant.
Afternoon: Return to the starting points.
